Build Your Storytime Toolkit (Washington)

Begins 10/22/2019

This intensive, hands-on workshop will help you sharpen your storytime skills and be ready to present the best possible literacy and play based programs for ages 0-6. We will cover best practices in selecting books, music, rhymes and more. This workshop is suited for long-time presenters looking for fresh insight and new to the game librarians ready to expand their skills.

You should come to this session ready to put your storytime skills into real-time practice as we will be demonstrating our skills for each other. This means be ready to read, rhyme, sing, create, and dance!

We will have a chance to learn rhymes, observe each other presenting storytimes, practice with props, discuss what  works in our own storytimes and what we struggle with, and get down and dance.

This workshop will include a one hour lunch break. Lunch is on your own.

Due to the active, hands on nature of this workshop, registration is limited. If you need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible. If you miss this round of workshops they will be offered again next fall.
